Primary PE premium funding

As a lasting legacy from the London 2012 Olympics primary schools have been provided with ring-fenced premium funding to ensure that all children have equal access to high quality PE and sports.

Schools should prioritise PE and sport premium spending to improve in the following 5 key areas:

  • increasing all staff’s confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport
  • increasing engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity and sport
  • raising the profile of PE and sport across the school, to support whole school improvement
  • offer a broader and more equal experience of a range of sports and physical activities to all pupils
  • increase participation in competitive sport

Olympic and sports day

The school took part in an Olympic morning of events. Children were mixed up into their house teams and worked collaboratively to complete team challenges:

- Make Olympic ring biscuits
- Make an Olympic team kit.
- Make an Olympic stadium out of Lego.
-Make an Olympic torch
- Team problem solving games
- Indoor curling

The children all took part and won points for their respective house teams. The points were calculated and added to the total points for sports day.

In the afternoon the children all took part in a athletic events in front of families. All the children enjoyed their day. The winning house time this year was KENSEY!
