School Vision

At St Catherine’s Church of England School we strive to educate our children to realise their aspirations and to contribute positively to society guided by our Christian principles.
Through the story of ‘The Good Samaritan’ the children learn to be curious about the world, be open in their experiences, overcome prejudices, encourage dignity and respect, live well together, celebrate individual differences and encourage kind, hopeful actions – working together towards a hopeful, inclusive world.  (“act justly, love constantly, live humbly” Micah 6. V8)

As a Church School we educate for:

  • wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life;
  • hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them;
  • community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together;
  • dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.

Lived Experience

Strategic direction and decision making.

At the heart of our decision making at all levels lie the children and their best interests.

Leaders are ambitious for all pupils regardless of backgrounds or starting points.

Improved outcomes – attainment and progress are always part of the Trust and school improvement plans.

Curriculum design

The Trust Capabilities Curriculum leads on how we deliver our aspirational curriculums.

The Visible Learning Status of our schools means that we use evidence-based research to provide CPD and implement changes for improvement. All staff and all levels continue to learn and develop through the comprehensive programme of CPD.

All schools within the Trust go beyond the National Curriculum and incorporate contextual elements to enhance pupils’ sense of belonging.  This includes broad, relevant enrichment programmes including use of the Trust Woodlands Activity Centre.

Community and Advocacy

All schools develop a programme of teaching that develops the pupils’ sense of community and how they contribute – this includes but is not limited to charity work, understanding equality and diversity and Climate change and sustainability. Each school has a wealth of support in place for all stakeholders for mental health and well-being ensuring our schools are flourishing communities.  This includes Mental Health Practitioners, TIS trained staff, a fully inclusive curriculum and high expectations for all pupils.
