St Catherine’s C of E School Curriculum Enrichment

It has been wonderful this term to really return to a full and wide enrichment curriculum for all our pupils.

Our Year 1s visited the library and the castle as part of their geography, English and history learning.  Year 3 and 4 went to the Hall for Cornwall to see Treasure Island.  They have also been having specialist drumming music lessons from Cornwall Music Trust.  Year 5 have resumed visiting Kernow House in person and have re-established wonderful friendships with the residents there.  Year 5 have also been to the Trust Woodlands Skills Centre to learn lots of outdoor skills.  Year 3 have been learning to code in their computing lessons.  We have had an amazing term of DT cooking skills with pasties, apple crumble and pizzas to feast on.  Sustrans have been in to promote sustainable travel with treasure hunts, bling my bike and geography linked mapping skills. Reception, 1 and 2 had the Farm and Country Roadshow attend to put on a farming workshop for their classes.  Year 5 and 6 have had bikeability and year 6 have been swimming too.  The year 5 and 6 classes have also attended several sporting events at Launceston College this term.   To finish the term, we have been so excited to be able to take part in Christingle, our choir have been out singing too and we have a whole school Christmas performance in the church to celebrate this special time of year.
